Who can come

The weekend is not simply for members of the Free Church but for anyone who wants to spend time in Christian company, enjoy good fellowship, is interested in evangelism and outreach and wants to enjoy a few days getting away from it all in Arbroath. All 'young people' are welcome to come to the weekend away. There is no specific age limit, so don't feel 'too old', the weekend is organized for those aged 16+.

Accommodation & Catering

The accommodation is standard youth hostel type, bunk beds, shared facilities, etc. Please bring your own linen (sleeping bags are no longer permitted by the centre management) and towels etc. If required, linen can be provided at an additional cost.

All meals will be provided and dining together is an important feature of the weekend. If you are concerned about particular dietary requirements please contact us. Contributions of baking are very welcome. Please bring your own tea towel

Speaker

The speaker for the weekend is Rev Kenneth MacDonald who is the minister of Scalpay Free Church Continuing. He was previously minister of the Snizort congregation, and has served on the mission field. His topic will be ‘Thy Kingdom come’.

Activities

There will be a wide range of activities that will suit everyone. There is a large lounge in which to relax and a games room containing air hockey and pool table which can be played at a small cost. For those of us who enjoy the outdoors there are plenty of things to do within the surrounding area (including: football, cliff top walks, beaches, and a very fine tea room).

Travel

Arbroath, situated on the east coast of Scotland, 17miles North of Dundee, is easily reached by road or rail. The centre has adequate parking facilities to it's side.

If you require transport, or if you have space in your car and are willing to take someone with you, please note this on your booking form.

The centre address is Millgate Loan, Arbroath, DD11 1QG. Drivers should enter directly from Millgate Loan (front/bottom gate) and not Alexandra Place (previously the main entrance).

Arrival & Departure

Where possible please try to arrive between 6-7pm on Friday. We aim to serve dinner at around 7:30pm. We would like people to avoid travelling on the Lord's Day (unless absolutely necessary), and the weekend will conclude with breakfast on Monday morning (which is available early enough to allow you to travel to work in either Edinburgh or Glasgow). Where possible it would be appreciated if people are able to assist in cleaning the centre Monday morning.
